PRODUCTION TEAM APPLICATION

Below are the descriptions of each production team position we are currently looking for. Please read carefully! Anyone wishing to volunteer must be 17 years of age or older

Festival Stage Manager 

Do you want to try your hand at wrangling a small festival? Then look no further than the job of Festival Stage Manager. This is a great job for anyone looking to get more experience with stage management and the duties that it entails.

Job specifications include:

  • Work with the directors to ensure a smooth and successful rehearsal process
  • Organize and work with the assistant stage managers to run rehearsals
  • Running/Calling the shows through the technical rehearsals and the run of the show. (Tech Weekend is the weekend prior to the festival)
  • Keeping the rest of the production team up to date on the state and needs of the rehearsals.
  • Being awesome and amazing.

Festival Assistant Stage Managers

The assistant stage managers are the Festival Stage Manager’s personal cadre of stage management ninjas. They are the points of contact for each show. If you are new to stage management or are not interested in running the whole show, then this is a great job for you!

Job specifications include:

  • Work with the Festival Stage Manager and directors to run rehearsals
  • Be the backstage crew during the tech weekend and the festival.(Tech Weekend is the weekend prior to the festival)
  • Help the Festival Stage Manager ensure a fantastic run.
  • Being awesome and amazing.

Festival Set Designer

The festival set designer’s job is to create a unit set that can satisfy the requirements of each show. Anyone who is interested in set design and looking for a challenge should consider this job!

Job specifications include:

  • Work with the directors to create a set design for the festival.
  • Work with the Head of Carpentry and Head of Paint to implement your design.
  • Create and provide needed design documents (sketches, renderings, drawings)
  • Available during the rehearsal process to help with the building of the set
  • Available during the tech weekend to help load in your set (Tech Weekend is the weekend prior to the festival).
  • Available for strike.

Festival Lighting Designer

The Festival Lighting Designer is in charge of creating and implementing a lighting hang and cue list for the festival.

Job specifications include:

  • Work with the directors and stage managers in creating a set of cues for each show
  • Work with festival volunteers to implement your Lighting Hang
  • Be comfortable working at heights
  • Be comfortable working with stage lighting equipment, hanging and focusing fixtures
  • Be comfortable using digital lighting controls

Festival Costume Designer

The Festival Costume Designer is in charge of designing and implementing the costumes for each show. They are not expected to do everything, just be the driving force behind the design.

Job specifications include:

  • Work with the directors and stage managers to costume their actors.
  • Work with festival volunteers to implement your design.
  • Be comfortable working with finding, pulling, altering and in the worst case, creating, garments.

Head of Carpentry 

The Head Carpenter is the lead builder for the festival. They must be comfortable in a shop and work with the Directors and Set designer in building the festival set.

Head of Props 

The Head of Props is responsible for finding and/or creating the props needed for each show. They must work with stage management and the directors to ensure that all props are found and ready to go for the festival.

Head of Paint

The Head of Paint is responsible for the set being painted. They will work with festival volunteers to paint the set. They will be working closely with the Head of Carpentry and Festival Set Designer.
